“Great apartment for a family vacation and an ideal spot to enjoy Lisbon and the area around at its best.”
I (Sylvia) travel once a year with my friend Martina and her two sons, Moriz (10) & Felix (7). Before Lisbon we did all inclusive holidays at the beach with children’s entertainment included. Now as the kids are older we decided on a city break. We were unsure if they’d like a city trip with sightseeing better than swimming pool and children’s cocktails. But that cosy apartment in Carcavelos and its great location made the holiday a big success.
The apartment is comfortably furnished and very appealing. There was enough space for all of us – the separate children’s room, the bedroom where the beds were prepared as singles, are fully equipped kitchen and more than enough space in the living area for cosy dinners or a relaxing time if raining.
Oceanarium Lisbon
Moritz and Felix were especially enthusiastic about the old fashioned Lisbon city trams that navigate the narrow hilly streets, the long sandy beach near to the apartment where you can fly kites and dream of a future career as a surfer. Other highlights were climbing the ramparts of the old castle, the Oceanarium near Oriente station and of course, the Torre de Belem (Belem Tower)
Moritz made his own list of ‘tops and flops’!
Tops:
– The apartment is very nice.
– It’s very near the beach. I think the beach is the best one in the area.
– A supermarket is directly around the corner.
– I would take the train to travel to Lisbon. The train ride will take 20 min. Going by train is great fun.
– There is a slow train, which is ideal for tourists. But there is also a fast train, if you want to travel fast.
– You need 5+ minutes to walk to the station.
– The surrounding area is very beautiful.
– The beds are very comfortable and big.
– The armchairs are perfect to relax in early mornings, to play with the iPad or read for a bit.
Flops:
– Unfortunately we had a problem with the TV (best if you bring DVD`s)
– There is a short cut to the station – but without lights – it’s a bit spooky at night.
I really liked it and would stay there again.

„Ideal für einen Familienurlaub und zentral gelegen um die Umgebung und Lissabon selbst in vollen Zügen zu genießen“
Ich verreise einmal im Jahr mit meiner Freundin Martina und ihren beiden Söhnen. Dieses Mal sollte es einen Städtetrip sein, statt dem All Inklusive Urlaub am Strand einschließlich Kinderanimation. Wir waren vorher sehr skeptisch, ob der erste Städtetrip mit Sightseeing besser ankommt als Swimmingpool und Kindercocktails. Aber gerade das gemütliche Appartement und die super Lage haben den Urlaub zum vollen Erfolg gemacht.
Die Wohnung ist gemütlich und sehr ansprechend eingerichtet. Genug Platz für alle mit dem separaten Kinderzimmer, dem Schlafzimmer in dem die Betten auch als Einzelbetten möglich sind, die voll funktionsfähige Küche und genug Platz im Wohnzimmer zum gemütlich Essen oder Faulenzen bei Regen.
Carcavelos surfers beach
Moritz (10) und Felix (7) waren vor allem begeistert von den klappernden Straßenbahnen, die in den engen Gassen Lissabons die Hügel hoch und runter fahren, vom langen Sandstrand (in direkter Nähe der Wohnung) wo man Drachen steigen lassen und von einer zukünftige Wellenreiterkarriere träumen kann. Auch die Festungsmauern der alten Burg zu erklimmen, das Ozeanarium und natürlich das Torre de Belem kamen sehr gut an.
Anbei noch eine Liste von Moritz, in der er in seiner üblichen „prägnanten“ Weise seine eigenen Tops und Flops aufgelistet hat.
Tops:
– Das Apartment ist sehr schön.
– Das Apartment liegt nah am Strand. Ich finde, der Strand ist einer der schönsten in der Nähe.
– Ein Supermarkt ist gleich um die Ecke.
– Wenn man nach Lissabon fahren will, würde ich die Bahn nehmen. Die Bahn braucht ca.20min. Mit der Bahn zu fahren macht sehr viel Spaß.
– Es gibt einen langsamen Zug, der sich prima für Touristen eignet. Es gibt aber auch einen schnellen Zug, den man am besten zur schnelleren Fortbewegung nutzt.
– Wenn man zum Bahnhof laufen will braucht man ca. 5 min. Die Umgebung ist sehr schön.
– Die Betten sind sehr bequem und groß.
– Die Sessel eignen sich hervorragend um morgens nochmal auszuruhen, mit dem IPad zu spielen oder etwas zu lesen.
Flops:
– Wir hatten leider aber ein Problem mit dem Fernseher. (bringt am besten DVDs mit)
– Es gibt eine Abkürzung zum Bahnhof, allerdings ohne Lampen, und ist deswegen nachts etwas unheimlich.
Ich finde es sehr schön und würde nochmal hinfliegen.
